A couple of weekends ago, we had some good friends visit us from Pullman. We became friends with Michael and Sam when we all worked at the Center for Civic Engagement at WSU.
On Saturday we headed into Seattle to do some sight seeing. Michael is a vegan and wanted to go to a hot dog cafe that he likes. So we being the go-with-the-flow type of people went along with it. I'm going to be honest here, not my favorite thing. However you have to try everything once, right?
The next stop was going on a harbor cruise.

Our attempt to get a picture. My hair kept getting in the way.

The big highlight of the weekend (besides the vegan hotdogs of course!) was a Ben Harper concert at a King County Park down the street from our place. It was great concert and he played lots of the hits I love.
Here's a picture the was taken at the concert when he was giving a little fan a guitar pick. He interacted with the crowd quite a bit which is something I always like.
I wanted to add some of my favorite Ben Harper songs that he played. However I'm having trouble with youtube and sharing content. If you want to hear the songs click on the links below:

Last weekend we spent a day out on the Puget Sound on my in-law's boat. It was an absolutely gorgeous day. Saturday was also the first WSU Cougar game of the season so of course we had to sport our gear.
The boys had heard of a good spot to catch crab through word of mouth. We had to give it a try. It was the last weekend of crab season and this area was covered with crab pots. I was worried they would all be taken but as you can see, we had some success. After a couple hours in the water, we pulled the pot up with two nice dungeness and one rock crab.
Summer is un-officially over. Technically autumn doesn't start for a couple of weeks but school has started so the vacation is over. Goodbye days of going to the gym whenever I want, mid day shopping trips to the outlets, and afternoons spent sun bathing on the lake. I'll see you again next summer. I really can't complain though because the weather here in the PNW is still awesome.

awesome summer! I'm glad you guys are closer now. it was fun to catch up at Rachels shower, we will have to get together more often. Ann was talking of doing game nights or something, would you be interested?
