Summertime Part 1

Here in Washington, we haven't had the best summer weather so far but we have had some really beautiful days. I was looking through my camera and realized there where some pictures & trips that I haven't posted about. So here's our Washington summer so far.....

Back in May we were visiting my parents. Whenever we go see my parents we always have in the back of our minds that we want to go see Hurricane Ridge in the Olympic National Park. However it's really only worth the drive unless you know there is going to be high visibility. We woke up one morning to a beautiful sunny day and made the trip up to the mountains. Hurricane Ridge is a really nice place to visit because you can drive all the way to the top.

Overlooking the mountains. So pretty! You can see that there will still quite a bit of snow on the ground but the road was clear.

Over the 4th of July weekend/week my family members that live in Washington spent some time at this home in Birch Bay. I had fun even though I spent a good portion of the week either sick or logging on to class. I didn't take any other pictures but we were spoiled with some good weather.

We have checked out a few of the local spots and one was Snoqualmie Falls. There is a big project going on and we couldn't walk along the trail but the falls looked pretty.

We live on a side of a mountain and just a couple miles down the road there are some trail heads. One evening we went to check it out. We took the trail up to Coal Creek Falls. The falls are pretty small but the area was very lush and green.

Last weekend we planned a last minute trip out to the ocean with my in-laws. It was finally a warm weekend inland but it was cool and windy out at the ocean. At least it was sunny though!

We went to the same spot with my parents last year and there was hardly any drift wood and this year there was tons.

We have some more fun days and trips planned for the rest of the summer so stay tuned for that!

  3. I don't know guys.... sun everyday is so good for the soul. But I'll take it when I get it and enjoy the outdoors when I can because that's what you do when you live in Washington.
